Social Marketing Quick Hits
As we do social marketing in the DFW area, we discover so many great tips to help businesses use social media, but not all of them warrant their own blog. So buckle up and get ready for some social media marketing scatter shootin’!
- When posting videos to YouTube be sure that there is a link that takes the viewer to your site. The link should be the very first thing that you put in the description and should start with http:// to ensure that it is clickable. You always want your visitors to any network to be funneled back to your main site.
- Titles, titles, titles. You simply won’t do well with social media marketing if people are not visiting your networks or interested in your content. That is why the title is the king. Make the title of your blog or tweet something that says “I am awesome and your life will not go well if you don’t click and read more.”
- Host a Twitter party. Identify a specific time and date during which all of your followers use hash-tags to talk about a trending subject. Get a few bloggers to connect and give suggestions to clients. Choose bloggers who have authority in your market, and ask them to invite their own readers to join in the fun. Throw a link or two back to your site to keep people aware of who you are.
- Do you have a free account with Yahoo Answers to promote your product or services? Shame on you! This portion of Yahoo is a feature that allows people to ask questions, which others can answer. Find questions that are pertinent to your industry. Answer the questions in an shrewd and qualified manner, and give information about your business in your answer. After answering a number of questions, you will get a sense for how to write good quality answers that get responses.
Of course, not ever business needs to use every strategy. To make the most of social media marketing, you need to develop awareness of what each social media engine can do for you. A custom strategy is the best strategy for social media marketing and if you don’t have one, then find a qualified pro who can develop and train you on a multi-layered strategy.
That’s it for today – see you next time!
